Simply remove the battery and plug in this dummy battery cable. Connect the other end of the cable to a USB 5V power source  (must be at least 2A supply, not an iPhone charger or computer output!) and you're in business; endless time-lapses or leave your camera unattended for hours.

You could even power your camera from the mains (see adapter below) without needing to charge a battery at the same time.
